Sleeping³

Kahlil Gibran:
... joy and sorrow are inseparable. . . together they come and when one sits alone with you . . . remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.
Kahlil Gibran:
We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them.
Marcel Proust:
In reality, in love there is a permanent suffering which joy neutralizes, renders virtual, delays, but which can at any moment become what it would have become long earlier if one had not obtained what one wanted, atrocious.

Ha… I have so far enjoyed my week :)
For once I have no idea what I wanna do and have to do… haha
Very interesting sensation… not one that should be repeated during the school season but intriguing all the same.

I spent time with my family and the rest of my free time was either spent:
In front of the computer/ television
Reading my library books
Sleeping
At the Cc
Sleeping
Sleeping

I guess I am making up for all that lost time…
-chuckles-

Now I have a mission:
To do my lesson plans for the next two weeks and plan what else I am going to potentially do… heeehee…

Can’t wait to see my friends again :D

Sheena,
Got a table liao?!
Alright~
Now we just have to get the people together for the game(s)… heh

HAPPY 21st JOYCE!

Rock on~
Rockth onth~

Soon

Helen Keller:
We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.
Henry David Thoreau:
You must love the crust of the earth on which you dwell more than the sweet crust of any bread or cake. You must be able to extract nutriment out of a sand-heap. You must have so good an appetite as this, else you will live in vain.
John Keats:
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Kahlil Gibran:
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

This day, 14 years ago, my grandfather passed away.
Gosh how I miss him.
Has it been that long?
Well, I am comforted by the fact that I will be reunited with him.
One day.
Some day.
Soon.
(I think the definition of ‘soon’ is complicated…)
Anywayz, I miss him tons…

Here’s to you Ah Gong!
Cheers!

I could have had many titles for this entry

Mother Teresa:
Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.
Philo:
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Rabindranath Tagore:
Men are cruel, but Man is kind.
Ralph Waldo Emerson:
Life is not so short but that there is always time enough for courtesy.
Ralph Waldo Emerson:
You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Hey everyone!
It has been a long time yes?
SO many things have taken place… haha… time to write about them… but first:
My apologies to Hui Yi… sorry I made you wait so long… x.xlll
Thank you J Kor for your concern.
Shoon! Update you blog – before I whack you!
-hysterical laughter-

Alright! Let the long entry begin!
*hoot!*

Exams, exams, exams… I’m glad they are finally over… but at the start of my holidays, I was wondering whether I preferred the exam period or the holiday period, because I was so freaking busy with preparations for the camps and lessons which I was supposed to teach…among other things… haha…

After the final paper – Macro – Diana, Hui Yi and I made a beeline straight for Sakae Sushi at the Changi Airport T2.
We spent about 2 hours chopping down different kinds of sushi…
Shiok xia~
Good thing I brought extra money… most of it flew away… hahaha~
After finishing with the ‘buffet’, Diana and I spent about 2 more hours walking around the airport… T1 and T2… hehe… its been ages since I last went there… and I do love that place… so quiet and big… hehe…

The Saturday of that week was spent watching X-Men 3: The Last Stand, with Lucian, Hui Fen and Alfred…
After waiting so long to watch that movie, I was pretty surprised by the number of people who turned up to watch it… the theatre was practically full and we ended up sitting right in front!
Our poor necks… but it was all good… thank our stars and garters – the sound system didn’t turn us deaf…
-psychotic laughter-

The movie was not all that I had hoped it would be… though it had a sense of finality to it… Some things are certain:
I hate Jean Grey
Hugh Jackman rocks my socks off!
-migumi laughter-

The end of that week marked the end of 5 weeks of being sick.
Not a very nice experience, but in the end, everything was good.

The Sunday of that week was spent mostly at NTC with the Taiwan National TKD team. Those kids are freaking mutants I tell you!
They train for 7 hours everyday and its no wonder they are doing so well…
I suppose I will be seeing their faces at the next Olympics aye?
Very nice kids they are.
The coach’s methods are pretty interesting, and I am very glad that I can not train at the moment, if not, sure die from all the stuff that the seniors were put through… all in all, you did well guys! BUT! You can do even better! :D
Rushed down to Kovan from NTU to help with the class…

The following week: I got my hair trimmed.
Haven had my hair trimming since Chinese New Year… haha… so it was quite good to have my head feel lighter… hahaha

14/06/2006 –
When to the Blood donor day event at ECP with Swee Shoon…
Let’s just say that the kiasu syndrome of Singaporeans reared its ugly head, and both of us were not very amused…
We ranted on Beanie babies to NeWater and other things… ending up with us eating Fried Oyster and Oyster Omelet at the local hawker centre…
We also went to the national library – my maiden visit there… not bad, hopefully I will be able to go back one day… much to see and do there… heh
We parted ways to go to our respective training sessions in the evening.

Thursday – The start of my first Camp Enviro-Awareness. :)
Nurul and I were the ‘Food-Aunties’ of the camp.
Very fun!
First time I went to a camp and did shopping at the same time.
-hysterical laughter-
Since we were the ones in-charge of the food, we had to be constantly on the ball and have to go out to buy food stuff for the kids breakfast and other items needed at the last minute. While doing all that, I managed to buy two singlets and a pair of shorts from the Army market at Beach Road… hahahha
The camp will stand out in my mind for the noisy kids, Wei Ming, the lack of sleep and the indecent number of mosquito bites that I got.
The bites were and still are disgusting. BLEAH!
Woe to all mosquitoes!
Woe to them all!

The first night had the educational tour as conducted by Nurul and myself.
We took the kids around the esplanade area and the other historical sites near the campsite.
By the time we got back… we were all half-dead.
Had to get up early the next morning to prepare breakfast for the kids, even though it was supposed to be DIY. Hahaha… What a riot…
Had to do last minute shopping for the DIY lunch which the kids had to handle for themselves and by the time all the lunch stuff was done, I knocked out for 3 hours before having to go out to pick up dinner for the campers.
The second night had a lot less people turning up to help with night duty, so I decided to try my best to help with the night watch. I kinda failed miserably coz I went comatose at 3am.
Yilinn slept in the boat and SS stayed awake for both nights… my hats off to them… Ho Seng was the ultimate… he din want to get his clothes dirty, so he stayed awake with the mosquito coil… -.-lll
We broke camp on Saturday and from there, those who were left had lunch at the nearest hawker centre and then made for home.
I was very close to nodding off…but I stayed awake… had BBQ with Alfred and his cell group in the evening and thus brought the marathon to 96 hours with only 17 hours of sleep… a first for me!
-runs mad around the house-

What little sleep I got before Sunday affected the appearance I had in front of my kids that morning… they were all asking me what happened to me to make my eyes so droopy… hahaha
Then again, I did have enough energy to get myself to Waterways to do a boat patrol with the gang and help with the final portions of camp clean up.
Needless to say, I got myself lobster-fied during the boat patrol - which means I have to go swimming to make my tan more even… hahah

During the time I was at camp, the blessed ECR came online…
THANK YOU AZIZ!
Aziz helped me log onto to get the bidding for my year 3 modules done :)
Thanks bro!

On Monday, hung out with Parveen at her crib. :D
Movie Orgy?
Oh yeah~~~
We watched Batman Begins and Just like Heaven.
The theme?
‘It’s ok’
Yes, yes, we promised not to have a theme for the movie orgy, but it was not on purpose to choose movies that had the ok thing going for them.
Shesh… those movies are poles apart and in the end… we see the similarities… haha… movies aside, it was hell-of-a-good catching up with Parveen.
Haven seen her since January when we went to the movies with Aziz… can you believe its been that long??
-screams at the indignity of it all-
Can’t wait to see you again Parv!
We’ll meet up for dinner after your work one of these days ya? :)

Tuesday and Wednesday were spent in church for the BCM day camp. Run for the sake of the primary 1 to 3 kids.
My ears almost could not take the screeching, screaming and naughtiness of all the kids. I was very shocked at some of my kids but the main issue I had was with the BCS kids who came down to join us. Actually, it felt more like they were dumped on us. Bleah…
If I had it my way, I would make everyone of them knock it down and never get up.
Good thing I did not have things my way ya?
-evil laughter-
By the end of the first day, I was 2/3 dead and almost fell asleep during cell group.
The end of the second day was spent at the coffee shop having dinner with the other camp facilitators and then at the CC with my tkd peeps.
Seafood… mmmmgoood…
Over all, the camp was good coz we all got to know one another better, I spent a lot of time talking to Jason. I had not idea he was so crazy… haha… weird putting the two of us together in the same room… hahaha
I went on about my prawn noodles for the two days until he lost his mind… hammie/’hair-mee’/’heh-mee’… hahahha… shall have to wait till Sunday to get rid of that incessant thought of prawns and noodles… hahaha

Yesterday was ‘Eugene-day’
Doreen, Nurul, Yilinn Swee Shoon and I met up for lunch at Marina Square and did shopping for Eugene’s birthday presents.
We ate at Swensens and then walked all over the place from Suntec to Cityhall and back again just to buy the items and get them wrapped… very fun to hang out with them outside the bridge place…hahah
I even managed to buy myself a new blouse! :)
Woohoo~
The dinner was held at Marche and hopefully, Eugene had a nice surprise from all of us.
Hui Min, Joyce , Noh and Tun Phong joined the dinner crew and we talked³…
Noh gave Yilinn, Huimin and I a lift back to YL’s place, from there, HM and I plonked our bums onto a bus and made for home…
The tired head finally met the comfy pillow and I managed to get my sleep at last…

Throughout all the happenings of late…the World Cup has come upon all of us and none of us have been spared the mania…
One of my facilitators at the BCM camp spent the whole night watching the matches until he came to the camp and ended up sleeping on the tables for most of the morning and early afternoon… *tsk tsk*
I haven actually decided who I think will win the World Cup this time round, but honestly, I don’t really care… haha… the only matches I look forward to watching are the ones with the Singaporean referee.
-hysterical laughter-
Knowing that Singapore has finally made it to the World Cup and even scored a hat-trick gives me a trill that no other match (so far) has… hurrah for Singapore!
:D

Ah…now that I am able to take a breather from my schedule… I have to get the things on my list done… haha…
During this whole time, I have been running all over the island and swiping my card… damn… I hope it does not become a habit… its fun to shop, but still… gah… better not make it a habit…

I so want to get back into training, but I know that my knee is far from being healed. And I have yet to get a referral… my bad… better get it done damn soon… bubble, bubble, toil and trouble … not a good thing…
Wanna go back to swimming… need it for more than one thing… haha…

Much to do… much to do… is there a time when I have nothing to do?
Hmmm…
-grows deep in thought-

I wanna KTV!!!
-loud hysterical laughter-

Yang Mui ah~!!
When you free to go out??
Must call Tanny along! :)

Sheena, Adeline, Siya !
MAH JONG!!!!!
WHEN?? :D

Time to surrender to my books… of a different kind this time… heh…
Let me know when you are going to be free to meet up guys!
Hugs all round!
